Can Vertiv's Americas Strength Drive Robust Q3 2026 Earnings Growth?

Read MoreHide Full Article

Key Takeaways

  • Vertiv expects high-30% organic sales growth in the Americas in Q3 2026.
  • Five plant expansions aim to boost capacity and accelerate backlog conversion.
  • AI demand, cooling acquisitions and the NVIDIA partnership support Vertiv's growth.

Vertiv (VRT - Free Report) is scheduled to report third-quarter 2026 results on Oct. 28, with the Americas segment expected to remain the company’s primary growth engine. Robust investments in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, accelerating hyperscale data center deployments and sustained demand for advanced power and thermal management solutions are likely to support another strong quarter for the region.

The Americas remains Vertiv’s largest revenue-generating region and a key growth driver. In the second quarter of 2026, regional revenue increased 29% year over year to $2.07 billion, with organic sales up 21%. Adjusted operating profit reached $571 million, while adjusted operating margin expanded 360 basis points, reflecting favorable commercial execution and operational efficiencies.

The company provided guidance reflecting continued confidence in the Americas’ ability to drive results. For the third quarter of 2026, Vertiv expects organic sales growth in the Americas in the high-30% range, representing a significant acceleration from the preceding quarter. The company is expanding manufacturing capabilities through five major plant expansions across the Americas. Additional capacity coming online should speed backlog conversion and support delivery of increasingly complex infrastructure projects. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Americas revenues is pegged at $2.52 billion, representing a 21.6% sequential increase.

VRT Benefits From Manufacturing and Cooling Portfolio

Vertiv’s expanding portfolio and acquisitions are expected to drive growth in the quarter to be reported. Strategic acquisitions, such as PurgeRite, have strengthened Vertiv’s liquid cooling and system-level service offerings, which are critical for modern data centers.

Vertiv’s expanding portfolio of integrated power and thermal management solutions, including SmartRun and OneCore, is another positive. Growing adoption of high-density AI computing infrastructure is increasing demand for scalable power distribution, liquid cooling and prefabricated data center solutions. These offerings strengthen Vertiv’s competitive positioning against Super Micro Computer (SMCI - Free Report) and Amphenol (APH - Free Report) and create opportunities for larger customer engagements.

Acquisitions are also expected to benefit VRT’s portfolio. Vertiv recently completed its acquisition of King Environmental Services Ltd. (“KES”), a Europe-based provider of fluid management, commissioning and load-testing services for high-density, liquid-cooled data centers.

The acquisition strengthens Vertiv’s thermal management capabilities across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, complementing its North American presence established through the PurgeRite acquisition in 2025. KES brings expertise in fluid treatment, system validation and thermal load testing, helping customers improve cooling efficiency, operational reliability and infrastructure readiness. The acquisition supports Vertiv’s strategy to address growing cooling requirements in AI-driven data centers.

VRT Benefits From Rich Partner Base

Vertiv’s rich partner base, which includes Hut 8, NVIDIA (NVDA - Free Report) , Generate Capital, Caterpillar, Ballard Power Systems, Compass Datacenters, Oklo, Intel, ZincFive and Tecogen, has been noteworthy.

The company’s partnership with NVIDIA has been a key catalyst. Vertiv recently announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate AI data center deployment using NVIDIA DSX reference architectures and factory-built infrastructure.

The approach combines pre-engineered designs, virtual validation and prefabricated power and cooling solutions, potentially reducing configuration time by 10 times and deployment time by up to 50%. Vertiv estimates that faster deployment could increase cumulative AI token output by up to 30% during the first 12 months under modeled assumptions. Polar Data Centers is implementing this approach at its 41-megawatt AI data center project in Norway, scalable to 100 megawatts.
